IT Infrastructure

Servers, networks, virtualisation, cloud: I plan, build and operate the foundation your business runs on – on-premise, in the cloud or hybrid. With monitoring that reports problems before they become outages, and backups whose restore has actually been tested.

Scope

  1. 1.1 Server landscapes built and operated: Linux, virtualisation, containers (Docker)
  2. 1.2 Networking: segmentation, firewall rules, VPN, DNS
  3. 1.3 Cloud and hosting: Hetzner, Cloudflare – operated in Germany and the EU
  4. 1.4 Monitoring, logging and alerting – incidents visible before users notice them
  5. 1.5 Backup and recovery following the 3-2-1 principle, with regular restore tests
  6. 1.6 Documentation and handover that work without me

02 security

Cybersecurity

Security is not a product you buy but a state you establish and maintain. I analyse where your environment is exposed, implement the measures that make the biggest difference, and make sure an incident never turns into a blind flight.

Scope

  1. 2.1 Security assessment: inventory, prioritised risks, concrete action plan
  2. 2.2 System hardening, patch management and access concepts (MFA, least privilege)
  3. 2.3 Vulnerability scans and penetration tests for web applications and infrastructure
  4. 2.4 E-mail security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and phishing awareness for your team
  5. 2.5 Incident response and recovery plans: clear procedures for when it happens
  6. 2.6 Technical and organisational measures under GDPR and NIS2, implemented

03 automation

Automation

Much of what happens by hand in IT operations and administration every day can run reliably on its own: deployments, checks, reports, data handovers. I build automations that are documented, report their failures and can be maintained by others.

Scope

  1. 3.1 Scripting and tooling for operations and administration (Bash, Python)
  2. 3.2 Infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines: reproducible instead of hand-built
  3. 3.3 System integration via interfaces (REST APIs, webhooks) between existing applications
  4. 3.4 Automated checks and reports: backups, patches, certificates, capacity
  5. 3.5 Data pipelines and document processing: extraction, transformation, filing
  6. 3.6 Small automations first – with logging, error handling and documentation
